Taking place at Cook’s Valley Campground in Piercy, CA on the Humboldt / Mendocino border, the festival has built its name based on an eclectic mix of music, industry-leading cannabis programming, and serene natural landscapes.
Set behind the Redwood Curtain in the fertile crescent of the Emerald Triangle, the festival offers a new-age portal to the Great American West. Established as one of North America’s most unique boutique festivals, Northern Nights gathers a dedicated community of musical fans, cannabis aficionados, and nature lovers to the picturesque shores of the Eel River.
Known as a pioneer within the music meets cannabis space, Northern Nights was the first music festival to have legal onsite cannabis sales and consumption (even before Grasslands at Outside Lands). As a result, the festival has become a hotbed for forward-thinking cannabis culture and policy, acting as a trend-setter for the live events industry and beyond.
The Northern Nights Tree Lounge cannabis event concept remains a trendsetter in the cannabis industry and a bedrock of the Northern Nights experience, featuring a full showcase of premier brands with bespoke programming to be announced.
The Tree Lounge at the 2019 edition of Northern Nights highlighted powerhouses of the California cannabis industry like Cookies, CannaCraft, Jetty Extracts, Chemistry, Flow Kana, and Packwoods, as well as showcasing the finest in the Emerald Triangle including Madrone California, Humboldt Farms, Humboldt Brand Cannabis, and Emerald Exchange.
With their return in 2022, Northern Nights leveraged their experience and updated local & state regulations to expand the Tree Lounge across the festival and further normalized cannabis concessions at events.
As the subsequent next first for cannabis events, the 2022 edition of NNMF allowed attendees the opportunity to purchase cannabis at multiple on-site retail locations, just as one would expect from a festival concessions provider in any other industry.
This included dispensaries located at various stages throughout the event featuring takeovers from top cannabis brands and allowed guests to easily purchase cannabis products while still enjoying the music they love.
There was also a fourth dispensary located at The Tree Lounge, which took on more of a farmer’s market vibe and provided a chill lounge experience for attendees to meet the farmers and learn more about cannabis from national and local brands. Stay tuned for upcoming 2025 cannabis details!
