Cook’s Valley Campground is a site unlike any other you’ve likely experienced. It is a rare gem; a breathtaking locale that amazingly juxtaposes a feeling of remoteness with surprisingly easy accessibility. Adjacent to US Highway 101 on the border of Humboldt & Mendocino county 3.5 hours north of San Francisco, this location is nestled along the Eel River in the towering Redwood forest, what locals call the “Redwood Curtain.”

Home to numerous successful events, Cook’s Valley Campground offers a unique and safe festival experience for both newcomers and seasoned campers. Cook’s Valley features deep swimming holes along the Eel River, landscaped and expansive grassy areas for lounging, and the largest Redwood grove in the valley used for camping.

About Us

Northern Nights Music Festival is a 3-day celebration of music, art, food, and culture. The Festival takes place on July 18th – 20th 2014, the third weekend in July. The location, Cook’s Valley Campground, has hosted highly acclaimed music festivals for more than 20 years.

Our mission: Producing this annual Festival with passionate support for & strong understanding of emerging underground music industries, featuring sought out producers & DJs from around the globe. This all takes place amidst northern California’s Redwood Curtain, a setting of unparalleled beauty that enchants the senses and embraces the rich festival history of the region.

Our hope: Creating a premiere destination festival that allows attendees to embrace a truly Californian experience. Lighting, sound, and stage production for all stages are provided by San Francisco Bay Area’s finest production teams in collaboration with renowned Humboldt County promoters and producers.

Paying it forward: Aligning with the traditions of previous festivals, a portion of the proceeds from ticket and beverage sales are donated to the Mendocino and Humboldt school districts, non-profits, and environmental groups.

Camping (on-site)
Camping is included in the price of your Northern Nights Music Festival ticket (woohoo!) and is designated on a first come, first served basis. Please be courteous to your neighbors and respectful of the space you utilize.; you could be asked to move your site due to overcrowding, and we really don’t want to do that.

We will be posting pictures on our Instagram and our Pinterest of our favorite teepees, forts, and tent set-ups,
so get creative and feel free to deck out your outdoor weekend abode!
